With a profound bow, the Priest makes an act of confession to God, the Blessed Virgin Mary, the angels and saints with the prayer "Confiteor Deo omnpotenti" ("I confess to Almighty God...").
At the end of the prayer, the Master of Ceremonies, on behalf of all present, asks God's forgiveness for the Priest with the prayer "Misereatur tui" ("May Almighty God have mercy upon thee...")
The Master of Ceremonies repeats the words of the "Confiteor" in his own name on behalf of those present.
