The Priest repeats the prayer "Misereatur vestri" ("May almighty God have mercy upon you...") and then, making the sign of the cross, asks for forgiveness with the prayer "Indulgentiam" ("May the almighty and merciful Lord grant us pardon...").
The Priest concludes with some short verses to which the Master of Ceremonies replies on behalf of all present.
