Two prayers - "Domine Jesu Christe" and "Perceptio Corporis tui" express the Priest's sincere devotion to God and are followed by "Panem caelestem" ("I will take the Bread of Heaven and call upon the name of the Lord").
The prayer "Domine, non sum dignus" ("Lord, I am not worthy that Thou shouldst come under my roof; but only say the words and my soul shall be healed") is repeated three times as the Priest holds both parts of the Host in his right hand and strikes his breast. A bell is rung each time the Priest strikes his breast to indicate that he is about to communicate.
The Priest then receives Holy Communion, first consuming the Host. He genuflects and places any small fragments of the Host which may have been left on the corporal and paten into the chalice. He then consumes the Precious Blood from the chalice. Each of these actions has its own prayer.
