The Priest's Ascent to the Altar

The Priest extends and then joins his hands while saying "Oremus" and then ascends to the altar saying the following prayer in silence:

Oremus.

AUFER a nobis, quaesumus Domine, iniquitates nostras: ut ad Sancta Sanctorum puris mereamur mentibus introire. Per Christum Dominum nostrum. Amen.

Let us pray.

TAKE away from us our iniquities, we beseech Thee, O Lord; that being made pure in heart we may be worthy to enter into the Holy of Holies. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
