Blessing before the Gospel

At High Mass the Deacon (or at Low Mass the Priest) asks for a blessing:

Jube, domne (or Domine), benedicere.

Pray, sir (or Lord), a blessing.

The Priest pronounces the following prayer:

DOMINUS sit in corde tuo (meo) et in labiis tuis (meis): ut digne et competenter annunties (annuntiem) Evangelium suum.  (At High Mass only: In nomine Patris, et Filii, The sign of the cross.et Spiritus Sancti.) Amen.

MAY the Lord be in your (my) heart and on your (my) lips that you (I) may worthily and fittingly proclaim His holy Gospel.  (At High Mass only: In the name of the Father, and of the Son, The sign of the cross. and of the Holy Ghost.) Amen.
