Prayer After the Gospel

Except in Masses for the Dead, the Deacon (or Priest) kisses the Book and says:

PER evangelica dicta deleantur nostra delicta.

BY the words of the Gospel may our sins be blotted out.

At High Mass the Deacon is incensed by a server.
