The Militia Immaculatae was originally founded by St. Maximilian Kolbe after he saw freemasons rampaging through the streets of Rome in 1917 vowing to bring the Vatican under their control.

It is a world-wide Apostolate now under the direction of Fr. Karl Stehlin who received his remit from Bishop Fellay, Superior General of the SSPX.  By 2016 there were 12,000 members (known as Knights of the Immaculata) in 7 Districts, and the UK Branch came into being in May 2016 with the District Superior as its Chaplain.

The aim of the Apostolate is build up an army of Knights (men and women) with an inexhaustible love for Our Lady and an unquenchable desire to recruit more Knights to her service, and who can be called upon to win more souls for Our Lord and Saviour and more vocations for the Church.

The duties of a Knight are not onerous - there are no subscriptions to pay, no meetings to attend - and no sin is incurred if the duties are not discharged. More information can be found under Duties of a Knight.
