Consecration and Adoration of the Host

The Priest reverently lifts the chalice above the altar and continues the Consecration with the prayer " Simili modo " ("In like manner, when the supper was over...").  Bowing profoundly over the altar he pronounces the words of Consecration " Hic est enim Calix Sanguinis mei... " ("For this is the chalice of My Blood of the New and Eternal Covenant; the Mystery of Faith; which shall be shed for you and for many, unto the forgiveness of sins...")

A bell is rung three times as the Priest genuflects in adoration.
